What would the average price of a tune-up at a LBS. The qoutes I have been giving are running from 65 to 100 dollars.

That sounds about right. Some charge more during the summer though. Make sure you find out what is included in the tune up.

I work at a bike shop and we charge $60 for a complete tune-up. We also have less extensive tune-ups for around $40, but $60 for the whole thing.

$40 gets the rims straightened, brakes and derailleurs adjusted, chain lubed, and headset tightened. If the customer requests the hub cones can be tightened. $120 gets all grease replaced in headset, bottom bracket(if applicable), hubs, gears and chain are cleaned, frame is rust proofed if necessary, all parts are stripped off and cleaned and everything is fully reassembled. Price can be a little less if you have a cartridge bb or something like a chris king headset which can only be opened and wiped off. Prices can vary to as little as 35 or as high as 160 depending on the shop. TTFN
