|Has anyone run a Shimano 9 speed wheel and chain with Campy 9 speed index shifter and derailleur? How well does it work? Did you use any after-market cassette parts?
Thanks in advance.

|Mine works fine. Been racing such a setup (Record9 Ergo and derailleur, stock Ultegra 9sp cassette, Sram chain) for three years. Flawless? No. Functional? Definitley.

|this gets addressed here about once a week so search the archives for more. The short answer is works OK for some but its not ideal. The Campy and Shimano spacing is different and you will have to compromise shifting to have it work. See the Branford Bike site for more info on compatibility. They also sell aftermarket cassettes. In general, these components were not made to work together, so unless there's a good reason (like lack of $$) to mix, just don't do it.|

|which makes Campy compatible spacers for Shim cass (sorry I don't have URL). You can only use them with non-carrier cass 105 or lower.
the other option could be taking 9sp cass (aka 105) and putting 2 Shim 8sp spacers in 3rd and 6th position, that should correct diff in spacing.
