especially if you devote the time you might have spent shaving to training. If you race, shave. Otherwise...doesn't really matter.

I've heard somewhere that if you shaved your legs... for every 20 miles, you would be ten seconds faster. It's not that significant... but it would suck if you were doing 60 mile race & lost by 30 seconds. I mainly do it because of tradition.

I recently crashed going 40 mph (tire seperated from wheel) and in the emergency room I spent three hours getting this large tooth brush rubbed all over my body. I had road rash on my entire right side and couldn't ride for a month. The Doctor was amazed my legs were not shreaded up and she specifically said that the reason my legs were not as bad as the rest of my body was because of my shaved legs.

Also, hairy legs look ugly in panty hose :)
Hmmmm....grzy mnky

When they whip out the wire brush for "debridement" it doesn't much matter what's in the way. Hair, skin, - it was all shreaded like one giant street pizza. Could the damage have been less with no hair - dunno if I want to find out! Best part about no hair is that the tape is easy to peel off, but now they have some new stuff that works really well over hair. Worst part is when they hit you with the Lydocane - had to load me up with Demerol through an IV......mmmmmmm.
