My dad has a road bike with disc brakes. I dont know hoe good it is. Ive never heard of the brand. Its a western flyer. But its a road bike whit disc brakes which i found odd because i though they didnt make disc brakes for road bikes. Is it worth anything? Ill probably end up riding it till i get somting decent. Its a bike and i want to ride so. But any information on this bike would help. Thanks

BTW, western flyer is a piece of $h!t. You might get $10 for it, disc brakes or not. My bet is that those discs were added later (for what reason, who knows), and are probably worth more than the piece of junk it is mounted to.
I'd bet those are DRUM brakes.MrCelloBoy

I am serious they are disc brakes. They have aluminium rotors. I really didnt take a interstist to the bike when i saw it becasue the bike it self didnt look like it was worth anyhting. But I really want to ride now that my wife does but i dont have a bike so im not gonna be picky for now and ride it. I know its a peice of junk but its better than nothing. If i can ill see if i can post pictures of it.

As kids (some 20 years ago) my younger brother got a dept. store 10 speed bike. I can't remember the brand, but it may have been a Murry. You know the type: cheap welded steel frame, about 35lbs, 26" steel wheels. Anyway, this bike had a rear disc operated by a cable. It was real cheap, but it was a real disc.

In Japan, most people ride around on these awful, cheap bikes called a "chari". They are all mixte frame, single speed, with upright bars, and a rear disc brake. I believe that they sell (in Japan), for less than $100.
