Currently on a Zurich and looking for a Ti bike for next year and am thinking Lemond Ti since I like current geometry and fit and then will have no body transition adjustments to make. Any Lemond Ti owners out there can give some comments on where the frames are made (Trek?) and price points on the 2 offerings? Comparable to Litespeed, ride wise? Thanks.

My experience is from shopping not buying so take it for what it's worth. They have two models one with ultegra & Rolf vector comps & one with Dura/Ace & Rolf Sestraile wheels. The Ultegra is just under $3,000, the D/A is just under $4,000. Both have the same frame.

Frames are made in the Lemond Plant.

Ride (based on 5 to 10 mile test) are comperable to the Classic, Not as stiff as the Ultimate. Not a badall day ride at all.

I would recommend you test ride and draw your own conclusion.

I thought Lemonds were made by Trek.

I think Gary Fisher, owned by Trek?, unsure of the overall relationship.

The new Ultegra group is nice, but the same geometry is what is real attractive about that frame.

Here's the word direct from LeMond's web site:

"Greg's Ti guru is Gary Helfrich, master Ti bike designer and constructor. He's the titanium last word."

Sounds like these bikes are assembled but not made by Trek, the framebuilding is apparently contracted out. Maybe that's why they have some design features unlike any Trek such as an integrated headset...

Can't comment on the ride, etc., but I would expect you will be happy if the LeMond geometry agrees with you.

As was at Supergo this weekend and they have the Lemond Ti on sale with full DuraAce and top of the line Rolf wheels for $2,900. Since you like the geometry of the Zurich, I think the Ti would be a great bike, especially for this price. Hope you live near a Supergo because they won't sell it via mail order.

WOW!! Great price. The down side is no Supergo's in PA and no cache until next year for the new ride. At least I have a ball park figure to go by. Thanks!
