Could I put STI on cowhorns?BC

I want to TT and was going to get an aero bar and cowhorn bars. However, I don't have a seperate bike and will be changing the bars a lot. I don't want to use brake levers and barend shifters because of the pain of taking them off. Could I put my STI shifters on the cowhorn bars? Oh by the way, can you get the shifters off without undoing the tape?

Thanks in advance,
Bradley

... yes, you can put STI levers on cowhorns... many Pro and amature riders do.

As for removing the STI's without unwrapping... fundamentally no. If the bars were properly wrapped in the first place, the only way to get them off is to unwrap... or use bar padding (which could be slid off and on) even with an open face stem, swappin' bars and shifters frequently would be a pain (your cable run would probably be close enuff).

Be the bike.

I'm not sure why you'd want to do this for the application you're thinking about. What advantage do you expect from the cowhorns? I would recommend just slapping some aerobars on your already bought/paid for/installed drop bars.

Basically, I don't think the cowhorns would be worth all the trouble.
