Trek OCLV Frame Size(4 posts)

Trek OCLV Frame Sizemc3

I love the Trek Carbon Fiber Frames, but find the top tube to be long in relation to the frame size. I normally ride a 56 cm frame with 56 top tube. The Trek 56cm bike is actually more like a 54 cm frame but with the 56 top tube...Should I size it based on the Top tube and not worry so much about the frame being small?

Go with the toptube, assuming you can get the bar height where you want it,Trek measures to the top of an extended stattube. My OCLV has a shorter standover than my other 58s but it's not a problem and the toptube length is right.
please be more specificET

When you say you normally ride a 56 frame, is that c-c, c-t of tt, c-t of seat tube, or c-t of seat tube clamp? Next, what is your current stem setup, i.e. how much rise off horizontal and how much spacers? If you already have quite a rise and max or near max spacers, then I'd say forget it.

treat the top tube length as gospel (ok, minor adjustments via stem ok) and seat tube length much less so (within reason). Your standover height can involve clearance from say 1-3" but you don't have that much leeway with a top tube. Ultimately, if it don't fit don't buy it.
