You can get a 23 lb. bike with Sora components for less, and I think from a better manufacturer.

And from a better bike shop. Generally, I think KHS is mostly sold by larger "appeal to the masses" bike shops like Bicycle Village or Performance, or are sold over the 'net.

Why not look at what Trek or Cannondale has in the $500-$800 range? I've even seen the Specialized Allez (with Shimano 105) on sale for about $800, which is only a little more than the KHS. All these bikes will weigh less, and if you are considering steadily moving up through the heirarchy of bikes, so to speak, any of those manufacturers will resale better.

So, I'm not really KHS bashing. I just think there are other options that are maybe better.
