Team Performance Membership Worth It ?PatM

Any feedback on joining Team Performance, every time I order I say maybe I should - but never do. Then I think about all the stuff I have bought from performance over the years and say I should join next time - catch 22 I guess !

even with the team performance discount & benefits, you can always find whatever you are looking for cheaper somewhere else online, you just have to be willing to look for a little while. Supergo almost always beats their prices, but there are a variety of other sites that have even better deals. IMO, unless you like the TOPO product line, performance is really not worth visiting.

I believe it is well worth the money. You get what amounts to a 10% discount, plus second day air delivery upgrade at no extra charge. Also, you can return merchandise that doesn't work or fit with no questions asked. Spend the $20!!!

I have probably spent $60 on membership fees over the last 3 years and have earned over $300 in credits, you can even pay for your membership with your credits. They also have special sales just for Team members, I got Dura-Ace cranks for $139, U.S.E carbon seat post for $109, etc. They will match most anyone elses prices including Supergo. Well worth it to me.

Definitely worth it in my book. Not only are there the special offers and discounts, they will price match. I was told recently by a store employee (I live very close to one of their stores) while looking at Sidi shoes that they will beat competitor's prices by X percent. I think it was 5%, but don't recall. Just show them the ad and they will undercut the competition. The employee actually suggested that I shop around a little, find a better price, and bring it to him so that he could get me a better deal. Also, returns are easy, and if you live close to a store, you can buy other people's returns (plus cutouts from the store) at 40% off the lowest marked price. Best part: buy stuff at 40% off and it still counts toward your discount points!

It's a simple question, really. If you order $200 worth of stuff in one year, then it pays for itself because you get 10% ($20) in bonus points for all your orders. On top of that, you get upgraded to two-day shipping for free. And they do sometimes have some pretty good deals only for team members.

I've had it for two years now and it's definitely paid off, but then again I spend way too much of my disposable income on bike stuff. Sometimes, if my friends want stuff from Performance, I'll place the order for them because then they get it sooner (the 2-day shipping) and I get the points. I wound up with a free jersey this year from bonus points and I have another $40 in bonus points built up.
$200 is the break pointLC

If you plan to spend (unplanned spending counts too) over $200 in a year then it is worth it. If you watch their sales you can find some really good prices that even beat the cheap.com places. It also is nice to be able to walk into a shop and try on shoes and jerseys if you live near one.

not once but twice on the SAME order, if you like crappy customer service that makes problems worse instead of better, if you like emails of complaint that go forever unanswered ... sure, it's a great deal.
Yeah, it's worth it, although you end up buying more crapbill

than you need because the coupon makes you feel as if you got lucky. I'm not sure that it's worth it just for the on-line stuff; some other places probably do on-line better, and most of the problems occur with on-line purchases (for obvious reasons), but if you have a store near you, I'd say it's definitely worth it. They carry an awful lot of stuff that you can't get at your average, everyday LBS. There are CONSTANT advertised sales as well as constant unadvertised sales, and you can get some real bargains (although most of the run-of-the-mill sale stuff isn't a steal, at least not compared to other on-line bargains). Right now they're closing out a couple of odd Campy products at a real steal.
I should add not only that I've had no problems with them, everbill

really, but I just came from there, and they really did something pretty cool. I had stopped by a Performance store at lunchtime for a couple of tubes and things as well as a Park Tool my regular LBS doesn't carry, and I saw a jersey that I had bought about three weeks ago marked down another $13 (Salsadelic; what can I say, I'm an old deadhead). I asked about their price guarantee. 90 days, just bring in the receipt. Of course, I didn't have a receipt with me. I didn't have anything. Still, the manager issued me store credit on the spot for the difference.
That was really pretty cool.

Everything I had to say has been said already, but I figured I'd add bulk to the pro-Performance numbers. It's worth it for the shipping upgrade alone (since we all want our new cycling goodies ASAP), but there prices are excellent, and the members-only specials are superb. Having 10% subtracted from one's next order is a generous little incentive to continue ordering, also.

Performance fliers sent only to team members often have items that are bargain priced and sometimes difficult to find. I've purchased two campy logo jerseys this year at half price. That more than paid for the cost. Also got a Giro helmet and Easton carbon bars at significant discounts.
If you ride alot yes.k mand

I never did before becuase I always thought It was cheaper somewhere else online. There's a convienence factor if there's one close to home and they match other online store prices. You can buy everything there-Endurox, power bars, tubes, grease, misc. parts that break that you need to replace ASAP. It adds up fast then you can parlay the coupons towards something like a heart rate monitor or a titanium seat post.
