|I'll be in Wichita KS. for a few days with road bike, was wondering if there's a group there to ride with in the evenings. (5:30-?)Or weekends maybe 20-40 miles. Anyone know?

|I used to live in Wichita, though I now live elsewhere. The riding is a little lacking. But, there are a few serious riders around. I think there is a Wednesday night training race series that starts about 6:30 pm from the Kansas Coliseum. The ride is usually about 30 miles (3 ten mile laps) and quite fast, but there are always riders of all skill levels. Call Byron at Heartland Cycles (316-682-4144). He should be able to give you specifics on what's going on.|

|You can definitely find lots of straight, flat roads. I only know a little about the east side of town. My father lives there and I go to visit a couple times a year. I ridden straight south fromthe east side and foud pretty smooth riding. Traffic isn't heavy anywhere excpet on the main thoroughfares like Kellogg and Central streets.
Definitely contact the shop guy that other dude mentioned. I'm sure he will have some good advice - everyone there is pretty friendly.

|Yea, there is only one structured group ride in Wichita and it is at the Kansas Collisum but if im not mistaken, it starts at 6:00pm on Wednesday nights. There are usually 2 groups, faster one starting first followed by the slower one and be prepared to battle the wind. I dont live there myself anymore but I did do those rides for the 4 years I lived there and there are lots of fun. If ya see a guy on a yellow Lemond named Max out there, say hey for me. Enjoy your trip to tornado alley:)
