|shorter stems will make your steering a bit quicker, but just dropping 1-2cm won't be that big a change. bars with varying reaches most certainly exist, check out rivendell (www.rivendellbicycles.com) for their selection of nitto bars. nittos are beautifully made, reasonably priced, and there's a good selection of models.
good luck, eric

|Ritchey bars have a short reach and drop compared to other bars. You see a lot of womens teams ride them as a result.|

|There are several things you can do, which taken together could shorten your reach anywhere from 2-6 cm. (1) Move the saddle forward on the rails, assuming your feet are still positioned properly over the pedals. (Your kneecap should be directly over the pedal axle, or thereabouts.) (2) Raise your handlebar, which effectively shortens the reach because the headtube slants toward you. (3) Install a shorter stem. Most stems are available in 9 cm lengths, but a few even shorter (5-8 cm) -- notably Salsa and Nitto (available at Rivendell Bikes). If you have a threadless fork/stem, you could also install a shorter stem with a positive rise, which would double the effect. (4) Lower your saddle, if it is too high. (Don't do this if your saddle is the correct height or too low already.|

|The Salsa Poco Bar has a reach of only 70mm and a drop of 140mm.
I dont know what bar you now have, but if it is in the 100mm range this bar will shorten your reach more than a stem swap.
You can check it and other bars at www.salsacycles.com.
Hope this helps.
P.S. am happy with the bar myself.
