I like both bike and each has components which are comporable. Any ideas or suggestions you might have I would appreciate it!

Pricing? The GT 2.0 should be outfitted a little better with the carbon fork, threadless headset and Ultegra components. I think the Trek has Shimano 105 or the Tiagra/105 mix. Both are aluminum, but the GT's rear triangle looks real stiff (may not be the best for long rides). Have you ridden either? I think if all things are equal (ride comfort, price, etc) the GT is the better deal. But I would take a look around on the web, there were some posters that mentioned some great deals on both Ti and steel. Good Luck.

I haven't ridden the Trek, but I have the GT 3.0 frame and fork built with full Ultegra. It's a very fast and comfortable ride for about 50 or 60 miles. Unfortunately, my body gets a little abused on centuries because of the stiff frame.

If you're not planning on riding too many centuries, it's a wonderful bike. However, I'd think about a more forgiving ride if you really like the 100 milers.
