Veloce to Chorus Upgrade: Wait for 2002?MeDotOrg

I'm getting a new (Carl Strong) frame, and I'm in the process of deciding what equipment will go from my old (crashed) frame.

The old bike had 2000 Campy Veloce Triple groupset, and I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to Chorus Racing Triple.

I hear that Campy's 9-speed will go away next year, to be replaced by a 10-speed racing triple. (30 speeds).

Should I wait for the upgrade? Given Campy's history, if I do the uprade now will there be an upgrade path to the 10 speeed,l should I wish to do so? Suggestions? Opinions?

The wrenches over in rec.bikes.tech have customers running 10 speed triples now. The medium cage derailleurs apparently work pretty well for this application. You might want to ask about it over there to get an answer first hand instead of second hand. A. Muzi or Peter Chisholm would be the guys to ask. I thought about doing it to my bike for the Death Ride this year, but I decided a 35" gear would be good enough. Then I crashed and it was moot.
