|I read a little introduction to the modern roadbike at BBC's site and there it said that the riders of TdF changed bar tape at daily basis, is this correct, do they really change it that often??|

|I wouldn't doubt it. I think they change chains everyday or every other day and cassettes change all the time depending on what stage they are riding.I also heard teams are given 3000 of those coke water bottles they toss those things out left and right.|

|I don't know about other riders but I know Johan Museeuw has his bar tape changed new for every ride.|
|I'm sure Festina does...||Bruno S|

|That intense yellow color tape wouldn't last clean more than a day.|

|I remember when Guerini won on L'Alpe d'Huez in the 1999 Tour de France. His white bar tape on his Pinerello was filthy. I know some riders who change their tape only after a bad race. The pros are also known to be superstitious, could hold true for them as well.|

|Thanks for the answers.
It is funny but scearing to see how much material the pro's have access to and use. I know a rider that rides in a italian div 2 team and he was home in Sweden for three races. were here for three weeks i think. He had a plastic bag full of waterbottles with him. They even throw away them when out training.
he also had a rather large box full of energy-gel with him, and he don't even use them very much.
Kind of sceary when you know how cheap you haf to be yourself and still spend a lot of money on biking.
