D/A bar-end shifter works *ONLY* with D/A rear derailer?Made in Taiwan

I just got a set of these D/A Bar-end shifters, I knew that the front shifter is friction (non-SIS), but i thought the rear shifter would work with ultegra and 105 shifters. I've read on shimano's site that the 105 rear derailer will work with Ultegra or D/A STI's, so why doesn't the rear bar end (in SIS mode) shifter work work with 105 rear derailer?

has anyone used these bar end shifters with anything other then D/A rear derailers? especially especially in the SIS mode?

9 speed DA barends will work with any of the 9 speed rear derailers to shift a 9 speed shimano cogset. They also work with 7 or 8 speed DA only rear derailers to shift an 8 speed shimano cogset.

Taiwan,
I recently installed the DA end shifter on a 105 rear derailer. They work great!!! smooth and precise. Remember, you have a switch on the rear shifter for index shifting or friction shifting. If you are interested in the index shifting, make sure the switch is properly set.

I've been using D/A bar end shifters w/ 105 9 speed derailleur on my commuter for the past four months. Front is friction, rear is indexed. Works great, rear shifts smooth and clean.

I've got D/A bar ends and an Ultegra RD on my TT bike. Works fine.
