Anyone compared the Flite TA vs the Max Flite TA? I'm wondering if there is much comfort difference? It's only a 40 gram weight difference, but I'd rather save it that not. I'm trying to find an LBS that will let me test, but no luck so far. Chicago's good that way!

I have one of each on a couple of my bikes. The Flite Trans-Am is pretty much just the flite saddle with the hole cut out. It may be a little more padded than the standard Flite but not much. The Max has significantly more padding than the Flite TA. At first I liked the Max better but as I got more mileage in, I appreciated the Flite on longer rides. It is narrower in the rear and doesn't seem to chafe me as much. The Max seems to get more uncomfortable on longer rides. Of course YMMV.

I've had both and find the Max more comfortable - the Max is a bit wider and has more padding in the tail end.
I still think that the Flite Gel is more comfortable than either one of the TA's. I had experimented with the TA saddles on my MTB and did destroy the Max in wreck by bending the rails (don't know if anything else would have withstood the hit either)...
IMHO saddles are really personal things - what's comfortable for one person can be a personal torture chamber to someone else. The best thing to do is to see if your LBS will let you try the saddles before you decide.

I have a Flite Trans Am collecting dust in my closest. On longer rides the edges were cutting into my crotch, so needless to say it wasn't very comfortable. Since I have no use for it, you can have it.
Hopefully, you'll have better luck or at least not waste the cash. If interested, let me know where I should ship it.

B. Bunter,

If he doesn't want it, let me know. I'll give you a twenty to send it to Ohio.

I'll send it out tomorrow. The shipping cost isn't a big deal, but thanks for the offer anyways.
