|Just spent all of last night adjusting my front Ultegra Triple derailleur, and I still couldn't prevent chain rub in some of the crossover gear combinations. Is it possible to get the derailleur adjusted so that I can use the full range of gear combinations without chain-derailleur rub? I would think with the price they charge for Ultegra, Shimano would have the rub thing eliminated.|

|I put 2000 miles on my Ultegra triple and was never successful in eliminating chain rub in the easiest gears of the middle chain ring.|

|Did you use the trim adjustment? You know, a light 1/2 shift of a click that moves the shifter just a little depending upon what gear you are in. Use it on my triple all the time, 12x25 and no rubbing.|

|and it worked great. I could use all the gears with the middle and big chain ring with no rub and with no trim adjustment. I used the bike for a year and it always worked perfectly. I had heavy rub if I tried to use the small chaingear with small cogs but that never should be done anyhow.
Then I changed to a double so I could get 180mm long cranks and now the shifts are terrible. I can use all the cogs with the big chainring without having to trim. But when I use the small chainring (39) I have to do a trim to use the small cogs. I do not like to do this. I have tried to adjust it myself and in two LBS and still does not work like the triple use to.
