I am 5'6'' and am getting my first road bike. What sizes should fit me?

Overall height only tells part of the story for road bike fit...

You'll need a bit more info to determine your proper frame size (both seattube and toptube length as well as saddle height and stem length).

Here are a couple of links to show you what you need to know.

At the very least, you'll need an accurate measure of your inseam. This will require an intimate measurment from your crotch to the floor (as described in the above links) rather than your pants measurment... Take the time to get these measurments... fit is of paramount importance for long term cycling pleasure! You may take them (with the help of a friend) yourself, or many bike shops will do them for you for free if you buy your bike from them (a small charge ($25-$50) otherwise... still, you'll have the data in hand once it's taken).

Be the bike.

Go down two threads to the 5'9" guy and look at the Magic Formula answer to his question. It is very clear and will give you most of what you need. Still, I think you should test ride whatever size you come up with to be sure. A good LBS would be your best bet.
Thanks for the info!Only300
