|I've used Gatorade many a time, and Cytomax and Revenge on occasion.
What does anyone else recommend for electrolyte repalcement on 40+ mile rides?

|can't really tell much of a difference so far, but i figure on getting one of the large canisters and trying it on a longer term...
the fruit-punch flavor is my fav so far. mixed weak.

|i use two water bottles one with slightly stronger gatorade (mix from costco size jug of powder) and one with plain water. and i carry a can of protein Ensure in my pocket jersey, seems to be the best combo for me|

|I'm starting to get the impression (from other sources as well as this list) that there's not a huge difference between (cheap) Gatorade and (expensive) other energy drinks as far as basic electrolyte replacement.
There's a column in "Dirt Rag" called "The Old Coot", written in a very down home format. The "coot" once went on about drinking flat Coke with sweetened Kool-aid mixed in then sucking down strawberry jam instead of fancy gels...

|I've also read that most energy drinks are about the same. I don't recall where though. Gatorade works for me and it's cheap.|

|I had not done anything other than water until a century in May where they had Gatorade at the rest areas so I filled up with that. That ride went so well that I looked at getting Gatorade for my other rides. When I went to buy I noticed the only thing in the ingredients was some extra sodium; not much different than plain koolaid. I looked at the Walmart brand (orange flavor, cheaper) and it had the same sodium + potassium + magnesium + Vitamin C. I got the Walmart brand and it tastes ok. I mix it a little weak but seems to work fine.|

|with a bottle of cytomax mixed from an individual sample pack. that walmart stuff tastes like...ech! i'm not sure what, but it's AWFUL! of course, IMHO--but, then again, i'm one to slather tobasco and jalapenos all over a ham sandwich.|

|I usually use Cytomax, but Revenge is also really good. I've used Revenge during a couple of hard rides this year, and found that I wasn't nearly as fatigued afterwards as I usually am. Your milage may vary though.|

|Cytomax used to be my fav, but they (Champion Nutrition) sold the brand to Cytosports and they changed the formulation to something nasty and weak. Found that Gatorade really upsets my tum-tum, so the Revenge has been working well - the "sport" version is toned down a bit - I go for the "leaded" variety.|

|Store branded apple juice. I vary sweetness by mixing 75% applejuice and 25% water. Cheap and natural. |

|I usually do 75% or so Gatorade and 25% water. 2nd bottle carries 100% water. I got a sampler of "Ultima replenisher" I think it's called, it was the same deal.|

|and sometimes Emergen-C. Glycoload before and UltraFuel afterwards.
Has anyone tried Glycerolfuel....it really helps me on the rides when it gets into the 90's..
