|Some great rides, and fun for a sea-level guy to see what I could do at that altitude, but goat-head thorns are a problem. My last ride there ended in a taxi--the price of coming from somewhere without thorns and not being prepared for double flats (unless a $20 bill and a cell phone count).
There are puncture resistant tires and tubes, tube liners and stuff called Slime that gets injected into the tubes--none of which add to the responsiveness of the bike (or are certain to keep you from flatting).
I'd like to hear from ABQ riders about how they deal with thorns.
