Lance - is he riding a 56 or a 58?Hank

okay, I know in the FAQ of the official Lance site says he's riding the 58 (c-t) OCLV, but is this really true? I'm pretty familiar with their proportions from having put so many of those together when I worked in shops (okay, it was a while ago, I admit), and I've ridden both the 56 and the 58 and, well, the proportions in these photos - especially the amount of seat post showing and the height of the head tube - really make it look like a 56 to me. Plus, someone else who is pretty in the know told me it was a stock 56 (c-t) a short while ago. Am I nuts?

Has the headtube been extended?12x23

Looking at where the toptube/downtube meet, it does look more like a 56cm. I am looking at one of my 60cm OCLVs and the headtube extension doesn't appear to be as great as the bike in the top photo. Do you think this is what is going on here? If that is the case, a headtube 1cm taller would be a nice revision to the OCLV since headtube length hasn't been changed, or has it?, since the move to aheadset and threadless steerers.

However, comparing a photo of a bike of different size to 'eyeballing' mine, is only a shade-tree observation, further compounded by a couple, ok, three beers . . . light beers.

I ride a 58 OCLV and the difference, in the picture, between the tt and the dt seems smaller. But then I still don't understand this lite beer thing. I thought they all were 12oz.
Just looked . . you're right, they are all 12oz,12x23

I've been had. I haven't looked closely at a 56, but in the photo the headtube just looks like it might be extended a cm, or so, higher above the toptube than my 60. You know, like Litespeed has done with their lineup this year. Maybe the photo is misleading, or maybe it was those pesky 'lite' beers. ;-)

I recall reading many moons ago that Lance rides a 56. From watching the T.V. Special on OLN his bike looks too small for him, matter of a fact, it appears tiny. I'd bet money to dollar that it's a 56 or I'll eat my old Conti's hanging in my garage....

According to Graham Watsons site, which tells Lances stats like VO2 max(83) and pulse(32-34), he rides a 58 center to top which the website says in this case is equivalent to 56 center to center. I have to admit the picture looks smaller though.
Well, what are Lance's dimensionsLinus

How tall is Lance A. He makes the bike look tiny in one of the pictures. What is he, 6'1 or something? He would have to be if that is a 58cm.
What size socks does he wear?look271
