WHY ROAD BIKERS SUCK........J.J. T. COB

THEY WEAR REALLY GAY CLOTHES,THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF MTB & BMX.THERE ALL JUST A BUNCH OF RICH BASTIRDS WHO THINK THEY OWN THE ROAD.THE SPORT IS WAY OVER-RATED, AND MOST OF YOU GUYZ WILL PROBABLY QUIT AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS ANYWAY. MAYBE YOU PEOPLE SHOULD TRY BMX FOR A WHILE AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT...TRUST ME, IT'S ALOT BETTER THAN ROAD BIKING.

many road bikers rode/raced BMX growing up and ride/race mountain bikes currently. Most top level mountain bikers spend most of their time on road bikes, and top level mountain bikers wear pretty much the same clothes roadies wear. Regarding the rich bastird comment, I would say the average cost of mtbs seen at amateur mtb races far exceeds the cost of the average road bike seen at amateur road races. Regarding quitters, I'm sure there are far more mountain bikes collecting dust in garages than there are road bikes. Not sure what you mean by owning the road - are you having problems driving your car? Maybe you should try riding a road bike. It's fun, just like mtbs and bmx bikes are fun. If you knew more about cycling, you would't need all this explained to you. Have a good summer vacation.
Great response...thanks!Jimm

Being a mountain biker who happens to own and ride a road machine, I appreciate your honest and polite response. IMHO, this was an obvious attempt to get a flame war going.

Anytime a person makes such immature statements, their intent is obvious --- attention. They need others to acknowledge their existence; they get a cheap thrill out of seeing others respond to their statements (makes um feel important?). I am a mountain biker who owns and rides a road bike. I used to think the ONLY use for a road machine was to train/get in shape for mountain biking. After 500 plus miles on my Postal, my mind has been changed. I'm actually enjoying the simplicity, easy access, ride anytime/anywhere, not spending an hour after a ride cleaning my bike, broken components, the zone/zen and the SPEEEEEED! The differences between road, MTB and BMX are many..."pressure" isn't one of those differences. If "pressure" is used as a criteria, then roadies would have MUCH more. The most technical single-track poses less pressure than a 19 year-old in a pocket rocket. It all comes down to: Go Ride Your Bike!

Really gay clothes? Have you looked in the mirror? Shorts down past your knees, a crotch that goes to your knees and keds. Not to mention your general hygiene. Gee you guys are cutting edge in the fashion department.

I raced BMX in my early teens at the Van Nuys track for years. I had Torkers, several Cook Bros., Redlines, etc. I then turned to mountain biking in 1985 and rode mostly Bridgestone MB1s and a Mountain Goat. I rode with the Del's Angels in Corona del Mar with several pros on Tuesdays. I now ride road.

Road riders are mountain riders are BMXers.

Ah, shit. Must be summer vacation again. Mom's at work and the pre-teens play on the net.

Hey, man, leave some spaghetti-O's for your little sister, ok?
