Anybody had any luck with these? I just received my shipment from Performance and after giving these a once over, I wonder if they are substantial enough. I'm a big guy and I'm in the habit of changing my rim tape with each new tire in order to forgo rim punctures. I've always used Velox in the past. I thought I might try something different, but I don't want to find out the hard way.

The first (and only) time I used them on a set of Shamal wheels, I had a blowout through one of the spoke nipples holes. The sharp edges of the nipple holes wore right through the rim strip.

Since the 16 hole rim had lots of space between holes, I ripped a piece from between two holes, patched the rim strip, and made it home OK with a new tube.

Now I always use Velox, or none with Ksyriums.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll stick with the velox.

I always forget that this feature is available. Too bad I couldn't find one for Performance Pro Forte tires. I guess I'll have to write one myself, they are on sale for $19.98 and I ordered three. I just received a shipment of two today and haven't put them on yet. At $20.00 a tire, I figure I have nothing to lose. Sometimes you have to experiment...
