Has anyone heard of a company called FORT? They seem to make good frames.

Yes, I have. Take a look at www.fortframes.cz. It is a Czech company with a very high local reputation. They make frames for the only Czech professional road racing team ZVVZ.

i own the aero tt frame which i built up for time trials. i only have about 200 training miles on it so far but i like the geometry, the welds look very clean and the powder coat is awesome. very friendly staff and quick responses to e-mails. you can get some pretty nice deals off their website, www.fortframes.com . i did have to have the bb threads chased and the paint on the dropouts filed away to ensure the rear wheel would stay tight. another drawback is if you request a custom color as i did, the wait could get pretty long.
good luck...hope this helps.steve

Just an addition to Trendl's message. Sure, the Fort frames are pretty good, but recently they were discussed at www.bikeforum.cz (in Czech and Slovak languages) and I feel obliged to inform you. Some 2 or 3 guys there complained about cracking of the paint job under clear coat (that actually remained undamaged) at the bottom bracket area. They contacted the manufacturer, who claimed to be ready to fix it by repaint and also stated they now bought a new oven which should prevent such problems in future. Good riding.
