hello all,

today i had my second continental race 700 light 36mm go flat on me. the tube keeps getting a hole/tore in the area where the valve stems goes into the tube. again this is the second time this has happened to me.

my wheel set up is mavic special k's with conti 3000gp conti race 700.

anyone else ever have this problem?

which other tube should i consider?

thanks a million!

I have real good luck with Michelins A-1 Airstop Butyl. I gave up on ultralight tubes. I was having the same problem with tears around the valve stem. They might be a tad heavy for your liking, but they have been bullet proof for me. I'd rather deal with an extra couple of grams of weight then spending time on the side of the road repairing flats.
I think it's an ultralite problem, not a Conti problemcory

I use Conti tubes when I can get them (can't always find them where I live), and I've never had a problem--but like the other poster, I gave up on light tubes after they just got to be too much trouble for a performance difference I couldn't feel. Could you be putting strain in the thing with the pump head when you inflate the tire?
