|Hey guys, lighten up. It was a joke. I posted it as a tongue-in-cheek "tribute" to those that take this stuff to damn seriously.
I post here all the time as "spokeman" or "AaronL" and I try to help out the new folks as much as possible.
In fact, on my cycling team I tend to mother hen a bit too much.
It was pretty fun watching everyone get so steamed. Reread all three of my posts. You'll notice that it's just too angry/bitter to be true.
If I offended any of you good people, I do apologize. That was not my intention.

|Humor does not alwasy portray well through writing. For me personally, this did not appear to be a joke. I've read other coarse posts that were entirely serious. If you had posted under your own name, some might have said, "Ah, that's Spokeman. Hmmmm. He's never been harsh before. I wonder if he's joking." But no such connection could be made. I took it seriously, and wondered if there was a concensus on the board towards new riders. So I posted my question.
okay, now I get it... hahahahahahaaaaa...

|Kristin is right; jokes are often poorly translated to paper. Especially sarcasm, which is a lost art anyway. Thanks for "coming clean".( I tried this once @ Bicycling's site a long time ago, dealing with getting cut off, guns, etc. It got REAL ugly. Learned my lesson.)|| |
