|I was wondering if any one could tell me how accurate the max pressure rateind are on tubular tires. I know with clinchers the pressure can usually be put 5-10 psi higher than the tire says. I'm still trying to decide if it's actually safe to put the tire at the 170psi it says it can do. Are they really safe to run at 170 psi and is there any area of margin you can go into. Thanx in advance. TTFN|

I ride all of my wheels at 110-115 psi (tubulars included). The high pressure rating on Tubulars is really designed for track riding, where a smooth surface will have have no chance of puncturing the tire. If you ride at 170psi on the streets, you'll definitely have a blowout, sooner rather than later.
Good luck and Happy Riding!!!
