Durn, guys, I've been trying to call my old LBS, Black Mountain Bicycles. They're not answering the phone! Did they close early today due to a rolling blackout, or did something dreadful happen?

Tony ordered some fresh guts for my coasterbrake before I left for Virginia, but they didn't arrive in time. My new shop is unable to locate proper replacements for that antique piece of junk, so I need to see if BMB can send them to me.

But we have not had any rolling blackouts here either. I will try to call them tomorrow to see whats up. How is Virginia treating ya. Sorry we never got to meet.
Be safe,

Eric

I'm glad to hear you're no longer Mr. OneSpeedless! I assume you never recovered the stolen singlespeed? I did get by SoulCycles once (rode the cruiser down from Mira Mesa), but you were not there that day.

Virginia is ... like I remembered it. The roads are not great, the temperatures were in the 90's the last couple of days, humidity also about that, air quality is in the orange range, and my coasterbrake is about shot (well heck, its got about 20,000 miles on it, probably 13,000 on the present set of guts).

Still, I've been managing 78 miles a week for the last few weeks.

Humma, I live near the bike shop. I'll drop by on my way home to check out the situation.

... I don't know what the problem was Wednesday, possibly just too swamped to answer the phone in three tries of a dozen rings? Actually, the symptoms were perfect for a blackout -- a closed store with the answering machine not running. Thursday they answered, and they had my parts!

But if you do drop by BMB, shake Tony's hand for me and tell him that Abe Lincoln and the silver Schwinn cruiser miss him very much.

Glad to hear they have your parts.

I just got back in the office and was going to email you that they are open, but obviously you know that now.
