Knee Pain(3 posts)

After a week off of the bike due to rain I do a 25 mile ride yesterday and have a tinge of pain towards the end of the ride. Today I do an 18 miler and the pain just got worse and worse after 5 miles in the saddle. By the end of the ride if was barely bearable. The pain is centered in the right knee on the inside (closer to the bike frame) of the joint. Seat position or what?

Unless you changed your seat position that probably has little to do with the pain. Try spending a few days on the small chain ring only. Were you pushing big gears? Give it a little rest and some easy riding and see if it helps. Do not be tempted to go to the big chain ring no matter who passes you. Try some ice too.
Check your saddle's orientation on the bike's axis (sightingbill

along the top tube). I have found that small differences in saddle angle (which can happen pretty easily) can mean outsized differences in comfort.
