|Specific Speedplay mounting/adjustment question...||Bob in Indiana|

|I have new X-2's, and new Sidi Genius 3's. Installation manual says: center the scribed line on the base plate with the "ball of your foot", unless personal preference dictates a different for/aft position. Also says to decide on the exact fore/aft position BEFORE tightening the base plate mounting screws...
Since this will be my first time with this shoe/pedal combo, I'm not certain how I should have already developed a specific fore/aft postion preference for the cleat?
I understand the ball of my foot should be directly over the center of the pedal axle right?
Any suggestions to determine the precise fore/aft position of the cleat, BEFORE riding, for the most efficiency and pedaling power would be greatly appreciated, since it looks as thought trial and error is not recommended by Speedplay (probably because they don't want you tightening/loosening/retightening the loctited spring plate mounting screws...)

|The ball of your foot should be directly over the center of the axle to start with. I had a hot spot in my right foot in this position. I ended up moving the right cleat(only) all the way back. See what works for you.|

|I'll mount them tonite while the bike is on my trainer, with the ball of my foot, as best I can determine, directly over the center of the axle, and then go from there if I need to "fine-tune".
