Now I'm considering a steel frame. What I wanted anyway. Is "ELOS" tubing close to 853 er what?

TIA

Probably the finest tubeset ever made. 531 was first, but EL/OS is what shined the apple. Though out of production, at least by name, it is still the standard to which others are judged. Anyone who says different is wrong. 853 is mostly hype and honestly offers no advantage, whether weight, longevity, or otherwise over a nicely build EL/Os frame.

Go to tetcycles.com and click on tubing. There is a nice simple description of each type of steel and aluminum and how it stacks up against all the others from a guy who fabricates tubesets from them every day.
