|Buying a new bike! the Bianchi looks and feels like a good deal. Anyone have experiences with this bike (I'm 55cm size)? thanks!|

|There was a review of the Talladega in Bicycling magazine in one of the last couple of issues. They seemed to really like this bike with a couple of minor nits like the seat. Overall they thought it was a very good value.|

|I've owned one for about 5 months now. What do you want to know? Let me know if you have any specific questions. My overall impression is that it was a good bike for me at the time of my purchase. I was new to road biking and didn't know what I wanted. Now that I'm getting more into it, of course I'm beginning to find all the small things that I wish were better. Don't get me wrong, it's a good bike for the price you pay but it's not a race bike. The steel frame is comfortable but not light weight. The ultegra components are a good match for this bike (except I swapped out the tripple for a double). The wheelsets are low end shimanos and they are strong and true but, again, heavy. You will love this bike during decents and cornering, but you will feel the weight when you are climbing. It's not a responsive bike. It's more suitable for long comfortable trainning rides. I think you will like it if you are just starting out and dislike it if you want a fast lightweight bike.
Hope this helps.
ps: Talladegas are actually welded in Tiwan. It never bothered me, but it does seem to bother those who want to purchase a Bianchi for its Italian mystique.
