has Profile ever sold a product that didn't get recalled for breaking? Their engineering track record is less than glorious.

They are keeping it on their website just to let people know. Details are very specific as to which ones are under the recall (down to the bolt pattern, shape of corners, logo printing, etc.). I use a Stiffy that is not affected by the recall, I've have had no problems with it, and I've been doing rather unorthodox off-road activity with my road bike as well.

You're right... the recall has been going for a while. I first saw it yesterday as I was looking through the June Bicycling mag. There was a little ad thingly for Profile talking about the recall. When I called my LBS, who is pretty up on things most of the time, they had never heard of any recall.
