As I recall, Ellsworth was recently advertising the Flight as the lightest "production" road frame. Unless my guess is off, other companies are making the same claim about their frames. Here's the link to the Flight:

this one is supposed to be 900 grams. It's also a great looking bike (saw some pics in Bicisport last year).

Dont believe Ellsworth, there product is first class there scale needs to be fixed. Example there as advertised weight for a MTB bike was 4.9 for the new Truth in fact it weighed 5.5, as i said there bikes are second to none but when I spend that kind of money I exspect to get as advertised.

Take a good look at the Quartto Assi 2lbs.4 oz for a 56, I got mine down to 15 lbs flat, the ride is perfect and it climbs well. You can view it at www.wmlewisimports.com look under Scandium frames
I DO! It weighs 8 oz.J.S.

It's made out of balsa wood and rubber bands . Now actually riding it is a different matter alltogether.

I don't understand why other bikes are so much more expensive than giant bikes. God bless their hearts for allowing the financially strapped for cash to own good bikes too. What other bike can you buy with ultegra and a 2.2lb frame for $1230.(claimed weight, but I've heard its actually really close).

There's a frame in my LBS currently (Sigmasport, Kingston) that apparently weighs 800g: it certainly felt stupid-light to me. Made by Sigma out of that special-use Dedaccia stuff.. no cobbles, etc. If you weigh more than an elf you can forget the warranty. But there you are.

(I think, in retrospect, that I posted more or less the same thing a couple of months ago... so much for originality)
