Devinci Road Bikes?Velocipedio

Anyone know anything about Devinci road bikes? I know they're made in Quebec, and the price/spec ratio is very, very good. But I don't know anyone who owns one, and they don't have any road racing cred... follow this link [http://www.devinci.com/2001/velos%20f/a.podium.html] to the model I'm considering.

Any help would be appreciated.

I talked to a Devinci rep at a NORBA National a couple of years ago. They are a pretty small operation. He said that if I had any real technical questions about the bikes that I could call the factory and talk to the man who built them personally. I thought that was cool, to be able to talk to the person who would build your bike and not some non-rider in a cubicle. I've since lost the number, though. You could probably do the same. They looked well built, and the rep was enthusiastic to point out the finer points of the bikes.

Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with their MTBs, which have a great reputation among riders. I'm leaning toward the Devinci because (A) it's kind of a craft operation and (B) their prices are so, so good -- @ $300 less than comparably spec'ed Specialized and @ $450 less than a similar Trek. [Canadian pesos, BTW.]

I want to get a decent road bike for training and, if I really take to the road [I'm a MTBer] I might get a frame made-to-measure in a couple of years.

I have had the Cevinci Chicane and now the Devinci Silverstone. LOVE 'em. Excellent value for $$$. Hand made, superior components, and Canadian.I have yet to hear anything bad about them
