|Damn these Campy Brake Pads!||Feelin' Lame|

|AAAHHRG!! OK, I'm frustrated. I can't seem to slide |
out my old worn Campy brake pads (99 record is that matters at all).
Does anyone have any tips on removing the old ones from the shoe?
It loks like they should simply slide out. Aside from patience
and some technical ability what am I missing?
Thanks for any hot tips.

|Clamp the pad in a bench vise, spin a nut on the threaded stud, slip a wrench on the nut, and push the shoe with the wrench. Somewhere along the way, you might consider trying to work a little oil or liquid soap into things, but that would involve prying with a small screwdriver, probably scratching things up. I've not done this on recent Record brakes, but have done it lots of times on various (including Campy) brakes over the years.|

|The pad does not slide off of the shoe. The pad is fused to the threaded stem that bolts to the caliper. You must take the nut off and pull the pad out. Then insert the new pad and remount. Vuala! You have now installed new brake pads. Be sure to adjust the pads with a 1mm toe in to avoid squeeling brakes. Hope this helps.|| |
