Tired of al this rain!!!!!!!Live Steam

This is one depressing Spring/Summer. The rain is really eating into my training schedule. I would consider riding in the rain, but there are certain hazards to doing that where I live. The traffic situation is getting worse by the day here on Staten Island - over 510,000 residents in 60 square miles of land with an infrastructure designed to handle about half of that population. This translates to very congested raods on the weekends and early evenings. With wet and sometimes broken up pavement with lost of glass and other debris to negociate, and cell phone toting SUV'ers I am leary about riding in the rain. When will we get a break in the weather????????

a break in the clouds so I caught a 20 mile burner for the day. I also was able to run an errand on the bike so I don't feel so lazy sitting here at the CPU!

I'm in PA, and it's the same deal. However, we do really need the rain (now I sound like one of the local farmers-aaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhh!) Anyway, I've still been able to commute this week (except y-day) on bike and got a good long ride in last Sunday. Tomorrow seems promising.

I REALLY feel bad for the "Tour de Cure" folks who are holding the Ocean State 150 here in Rhode Island this weekend. The route is 80 miles from Narragansett to Mystic, CT and then 70 miles on the return tomorrow. Normally, this coastal route is stunning & inspirational to ride. But it has been POURING intermittently today and it is quite cool (60-ish) and foggy along the coast. Unfortunately, I'm certain that this weather has hurt rider turnout and subsequently will minimize the contribution to this worthy charity.
So, yeah, this rainy streak we are enduring S**KS!

I rode almost all of the 300K Boston Brevet today, and when I gave up after riding 137 miles in the rain (because the cold and wet killed my knees) It stopped!!! It pours all morning, and when I stop, it stops, what gives?
