| All forks the same length? | redlights suck Jun 2, 2001 7:17 AM | | hi
Just wondering if all forks are the same length (what i mean is from the headset crown to the dropouts) or do different manufacturers spec their forks length differently?
If so, wouldn't i be changing the bike's geometry if i change forks?
if no? then whats the standard fork length that all manufacturers follow? just curious.
thanks |

| most vary little... | C-40 Jun 2, 2001 1:14 PM | | This info should be available on fork manufacturers web sites. I looked up several brands once, and found there was little difference. The AME website lists a length of 374mm.
Not all 700C wheeled bikes use a standard length fork, however. I've got a '91 specialzed hybrid that has a lot longer fork than any normal road bike. |
