Shinny vs Matte tires?(2 posts)

Shinny vs Matte tires?Bruno S

I just bought a pair of Vittoria Tecno pro tires. They have been a nightmare to install. While doing it I noticed that one is different from the other. I bought them from the same store at the same time and they came in identical boxes. One is matte and the pattern is very sharp. The other is much more shinny (like if made of plastic) and the pattern looks less sharp. Is this a defect or not all tires come out the same from the mold?

I don't know, but I think Vittoria recently made a manufacturing transition on some tires from Italy to somewhere in Asia. I don't know if the Techno Pro was ever manufactured in Italy, but I suppose it's possible that the tires were manufactured in different locations. Just for kicks, you may want to check the tires to find out where they were made.
