Before you give the dealer final payment, tell him/her that you want an ITEMIZED BILL OF SALE for your purchase (bike only; don't worry about clothing accessories, etc.) DO THIS BEFORE PAYING!!!!!!! (The [average] dealer is eager to satisfy you before he/she gets the money in their hand..."Anything you want, Mr/Ms. Customer"!) Now, (God Forbid!) should you ever have a situation where the bike is accidently damaged, you can show that this ride is not a $400. ride (as most non-cyclists believe) and that it does represent a $2000-$4500 item (which a non-cyclist would NEVER believe)...

Sounds like you've had a bad experience lately, coonass. I'm glad you posted this, because I am waiting on the lbs to build up a frame for me. I had a question earlier about bicycle insurance. This seems like the first logical step.

No, just try to use a little common sense and 'have been around the block a few times...lol)..but I did get detailed receipts on two Waterfords; one with Record 10 and the other with DA.....love them both...and surely want to get them replaced with 'minimal trouble', just in case....happy riding!
