Experience with Performance Factory Roof Kit?(2 posts)

Experience with Performance Factory Roof Kit?LI Biker

I am referring to the Performance XPORT add on to a factory roof kit on an SUV. I gather it just bolts onto the existing cross rails.
Any experience, good or bad, or advice will be appreciated.
I would like to avoid spending literally hundreads of dollars more for a complete roof package.

Below is what I have on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am very happy with it. Very simple, easy to install, bikes lock in and ride very stable.
The forks lock in a "bike tight" in the front ant they have a locking clamp that secures the rear wheel. It attaches to the factory roof rack with a clamping system using allen head screws. I found mine as a "returned" item for $99.00. Call Performance and inquire; may save you some money. The only disadvantage I see is you have to carry your wheels in the vehicle, no big deal for me. Overall, for the money, I am very pleased.
