Basso frames?(3 posts)

Basso frames?Terence

I had a Basso Loto frame back about 10 years ago and it was great. I recently purchased a new Loto from a place in England. My question is why don't I see any signs of them (Basso's) in the US? Is there something I should know about them?

Thanks
Terence

I used to ride/race 400-500 miles a week throughout Florida back in the eighties and early nineties. European bikes were common and even then Bassos were not the flavor of the month. I'd see a Gap or Loto on occasion but they had a reputation for being heavy although good frames.
Most of the popular frames are those which have been seen under riders winning races either international or national/regional levels.
I could think of many good frame makers that aren't in the limelight here in the US.
