Does Anyone out there remember this road bike? Peugeot tried to get into the aluminum market with two models, the higher of which was the Galaxe. I was (un)fortunate enough to buy one in the late 80's. They were recalled for one reason or another, and it was replaced by the Triathlon. My post is really out of curiosity more than anything, and if anyone new mor eof the history of the bike...if any still exist...etc.

The other was the Comete. The tubes were force fit without adhesives as was the Vitus frames. When failure of the tubes to hold together was reported, all the models were recalled. The bikes as tested in Bicycling, I would have to thumb through the issues to find the revues, were quite light at just over 19 lbs. I always suspected their recall was the primary reason for the dissapearance of Peugeot for a number of years. Peugeot did finally reappear and still sponsors teams in Europe.
