I would like to know the purpose of those fancy wheel set with fewer spokes.
Are they only meant to be lighter or are they any stronger???
thanks a lot

|The fewer the spokes.the more aero the wheel. It's not always about weight but it can be. Fewer spokes means less weight but the rim is usually beefed up to compensate for fewer spokes. In a perfect world we would all be riding a wheel with a low spoke count, a light hub, and a light aero rim.
How you achieve that is a great debate. That's why there is a market for wheelsets.
