|I've heard rumors from good sources that Schwinn is in serious trouble. Apparently, they are searching for a buyer. Has anyone else heard anything regarding Schwinn? If what I hear is true, I hope the name doesn't disappear from the bike world. They were a big part of many American childhoods. |

|this has happened before to Schwinn and they came back even stronger. Hopefully they will do it again. The ironic thing is Schwinn also owns GT. Someone will buy them though.|

|... ain't the Schwinn I grew up with. The bikes that made Kaptain Kangaroo say "Schwinn bikes, the quality bikes, are best," were built in America. Today, except for a handful of hand-built Black Phantoms, and I guess the Paramounts, Schwinns are mostly Chinese.
I wish 'em well, I'm attached to my vintage Schwinn, and I appreciate that the company is selling tires for it again, but somehow I don't feel the same attachment to the company any more.
|the REAL schwinn is Waterford bicycles||huh|

|Waterford is the shop where all the real high end schwinn's were built for years Paramounts and such. Now in that same factory Waterfords are being built. I have heard that you can get your Paramount repaired, restored, or repainted there.|| |
