Headset removalJames

I have a Cane Creek S5 headset installed on my current bike. I'm in the middle of transferring parts to my new bike and wasnt sure if i should remove the headset(Less than 2 months old) or buy a new one? I can either buy the Park tool or have it removed by my lbs, But is it common to damage them on removal?

Thanks...

It isn't common to damage a headset on removal if you are careful. I have done it numerous times myself with no damaged headsets to date. If you haven't done it, you should probably leave it to the bike shop. They have the rocket tool to take it out, and the press to put it into you new bike. Buying a rocket tool and headset press would be a waste of money for a home mechanic for the number of times that you would actually use them. You just need to ask yourself if you want a new headset or not. It's a simple job to keep the old one though, and less expensive.
