|I did my first road race yesterday. I did pretty well cuz I finished, and quite a few people didn't, but I think my main problem was one of endurance, and pure leg strength which disappeared on the second last lap. My cardio is great, no problems there, and I have great recovery. And the endurance bit is a simple equation:
ride alot=good endurance.
But about the leg strength. Should I put some weights into my training regiment, or any non-weight excercizes like squats or something that works better for cycling? Or should I just do alot of hill training, or just ride alot and the leg strength will come? (Access to weights is complicated, and I would only do it if it is really benificial, like if I can't become a great rider without doing weights. But if I must, I will).
