|I'm a Ramblin' Guy (early Steve Martin reference for those of you under 35).
For the second time in the last month, my wife and kids have been away from the house for the weekend. Although I miss them immensely, their absence does give me the opportunity to extend my weekend rides. Nothing beats a good rambling ride with no particular destination and no required return time. Yesterday's ride was on a regular course with a friend, but today's ride was a solo ride that could be described as meandering.
I would turn left where I normally turn right, right where I normally turn left, or go straight where I'd normally turn. I took roads I'd never ridden before and some roads I didn't even know existed until today. Found some great scenery and ran into some nice people along the way. So, if you want to clear out the cobwebs, pick a day when you can stay out as long as you want and just start riding. Don't worry about mileage or speed. Just do what feels right. The funniest part of the ride is that I couldn't get that dang Steve Martin song out of my head through the entire ride. RAMBLIN'!

|I thought this was going to be a review of the Bluegrass Festival!
I've had rides like that too, and they are the best.
I dare you to go out on a ride now, and NOT THINK ABOUT THE SONG KING TUT (oh yeah, it's stuck in your head now!! ;)

|You know (in accordance with the above Fred reference), you are teetering on the fence and very close to falling on the FRED side with your cute smily/winky faces, answering every post with waxing poetic answers, and keeping us all updated with your family life. Ease up a bit.|

|I'll try to become more of a cynical jerk. Whenever I respond in the future, I will do so in curt language that responds to the post, providing no extraneous information. All I ask is that next time you have a criticism of my posts, you use your own name rather than an assumed name. I'm not vindictive, so I won't send nasty e-mails to you or otherwise harass or bother you. It's just nice to know who is actually doing the posting around here.
P.S. I do agree with your observation that my use of the cutesy smiley/winky face has become excessive.

|with 'steve'. You don't have to be cynical, but your answers and mr. winky were getting to be a bit much. It's alike a pilot, while flying coast to coast, pointing out each and every scenic thing 30,000 ft below. Finally you say '....ok, Captain Howdy Dowdy....enough already.....'|

|I believe that is Howdy Doody, correct? And I agree, it was becoming very excessive.|
