I have a Mongoose "Sandvik" and it has held up to my 200lbs for a couple of years with no problems, thousands of road miles. Previous to that bike I had a performance Ti bike that cracked at the weld in one years use. Was it made by Airborne? I don't know.

Sandvik is a manufacturer, fabricator and distributor of titanium sheet and tubing. They happen to sell their product to bicycle manufacturers. The Mongoose in question is probably made of Ti sourced from Sandvik. As to who welded the Ti frames for Mongoose, maybe someelse knows.

Your final two sentences imply that it may well have been made by Airborne, might just as well have said:"Was it Sandvik? I don't know."

I can tell you with 100 per cent certainty that your Performance frame was NOT and Airborne.

I saw my first Airborne in person today and wasn't all that impressed with the appearance of the bike. However, I didn't ride it and can't comment on its ride. Sampson seems to have some pretty smokin' deals on ti bikes, as does Habanero. BTW, I saw the Airborne when I stopped by Supergo to look through the bargain bin. Does anyone know when Supergo started selling Airborne? I thought they were direct order from Airborne only.
Airborne sells through dealers nowvenus

Sandvik are made in the states (Washington?) and are a pretty solid ride.
Airborne are made in China.
Lots of happy Airborne riders out there, but i would go for the Sandvik.
