Hello-

I am new to road riding and just purchased a Cannondale R600. I want to change the saddle to a Selle Italia Pro Link but it is Titanium and Carbon. I weigh 195 lbs. and I was wondering if I need a sturdier saddle?

Greg you are probably OK with the saddle, but you may want to contact the US Selle Italia distributer to see if they have more info for you.
Don't worry about it , Greg. You won't break it. (nm)shmoo

that Cannondale slaps on the R600 and R800. A little soft, but very comfortable. I've had mine for a couple of years, and have never bothered to "upgrade".

It all comes down to how you handle the transitions. Found that my beloved WTB MTB saddle is slightly bent to one side. Usually I don't see this kind of abuse on a roadbike saddle. Ultimately comfort is by far the most important factor, but it does you no good if the saddle is junk.

You're OK with your weight and saddle.

I did bend the rails of a Terry saddle on my hardtail though..... and I'm only 150#. Terry replaced it! :) Good saddle and good company!
